Format type of the field that the set uses.
- Numeric fields can only contain numbers. You do not need to enter any leading zeros; they are not displayed.
- Character fields can contain any printable characters. They are stored unchanged.
- Alphanumeric fields are like numeric fields if they only contain numbers (and blank spaces at the end), otherwise they are used like character fields.
