Documentation
Definition
Specifies the target ledger group to which postings are made during balance valuation.
Use
If the ledger group assigned to the valuation area contains one or more ledgers with more than 16 periods (such as a day ledger), such ledgers are not valuated directly and no postings are made to them. You can only valuate such ledgers if the ledger group contains a representative ledger.
If you want to post the valuation of a ledger with more than 16 periods, you have to enter a target ledger group here. In doing so, you have to ensure the following:
- The source and target ledger group have the same representative ledger.
- The target ledger group does not contain any other ledgers (apart from other ledgers with more than 16 periods). If necessary, add the representative ledger to the target ledger group.
When the valuation is posted, this target ledger group is used as opposed to the target ledger group of the ledger with ledger group of the same name, which would usually be used. For example, with the standard settings, valuation of ledger 0L is posted to target ledger group 0L.
