Definition

Specifies a ledger in General Ledger Accounting that the special purpose ledger refers to regarding the update of certain G/L account postings.

Use

You can perform in General Ledger Accounting G/L account postings that are only updated in selected ledgers of General Ledger Accounting. For this, you specify a ledger group during posting:

  • If the leading ledger is contained in this ledger group and transaction RFBU is assigned to the special ledger, then a special purpose ledger is always updated for such G/L account postings.
  • If the leading ledger is not contained in the ledger group, a special purpose ledger is not updated. This only occurs if you have assigned a ledger from this ledger group as a reference ledger to a special purpose ledger.

If you use a special purpose ledger that contains exactly the same posting information as a specific (non-leading) ledger in General Ledger Accounting (the reference ledger), you have to enter this ledger here. Otherwise, your special purpose ledger will take its posting information from the leading ledger in General Ledger Accounting.

Dependencies

Example

Examples are distributions or assessments in General Ledger Accounting: If these activities are performed for the leading ledger, they are also updated to a special purpose ledger (provided the corresponding transactions are assigned). Assessments or distributions for a non-leading ledger in General Ledger Accounting are only updated to a special purpose ledger that relates to the ledger in General Ledger Accounting.
