Definition
The migration date is generally the first day of the fiscal year. With the SAP standard migration settings, all data that was posted prior to this date are not considered. Open items, on the other hand, are considered.
Use
The migration date must be the first day of a fiscal year. The last day of the fiscal year variant must correspond to the day preceding the migration date (that is, the migration date minus one day).
When you assign the objects to be migrated (company codes and ledgers) to a migration plan, ensure that the respective fiscal year variant is compatible with the migration date.
Note also that the migration date must fall in the same fiscal year for all combinations of company code and ledger.
Dependencies
Example
Migration plan MP1 has migration date 01/01/YYYY.
- You can assign to this migration plan a company code / ledger combination with a fiscal year variant from 01/01/YYYY to 12/31/YYYY.
- You cannot assign to this migration plan the company code / ledger combination with a fiscal year variant from 09/01/YYYY to 08/31/YYYY. In this case, the system issues an error message. You need to enter 09/01/YYYY as the migration date.
