Definition
Causes the characteristic Functional Area to be updated to totals tables in Controlling (CO).
Use
Updating the functional area in CO totals tables has the advantage that credit postings can be made from the CO sender objects using the functional areas during assessments, distributions, settlements, overhead calculation, and revaluations within CO, since these allocations are based on the CO totals tables. However, this increases the number of CO totals tables, which can have a negative effect on performance during assessments and distributions in CO.
Restriction: For allocations to CO-PA and accruals, credit postings are not made to the sender using the functional areas.
