Definition
Foreign key that identifies a parent record uniquely.
Use
Key fields are record numbers that are assigned automatically. In Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) structures, additional key fields are included that the user must fill in order to identify a record uniquely. This is the case if a new specification is to be created that does not yet have a record number. Therefore an artificial record number has to be assigned that is used as a foreign key, for example, in the value assignment table.
