Definition
Indicator which identifies the material as a material to be discontinued and which triggers discontinuation control in materials planning.
Use
In materials planning, the indicator causes the system to pass on the dependent requirements, which are no longer covered by the stocks of the material, to the follow-up material.
Dependencies
- The material to be discontinued and the follow-up material must be subject to MRP.
- The base unit of measure of the follow-up material must be the same as that of the material to be discontinued.
- The low-level code of the follow-up material must be greater than or equal to that of the material to be discontinued.
