Definition

Specifies the unit of measure in which the goods movement or inventory count is entered.

Use

Enter a unit of measure here only if it differs from the default unit of measure.

There are the following default units of measure:

• the order unit for goods receipts with reference to purchase orders
• the production unit for goods receipts with reference to production orders
• the unit of issue for other goods movements

If the default unit of measure has not been defined in the material master record, the system will suggest the stockkeeping unit.

Dependencies

The system proposes the unit of issue if:

• this unit has been defined in the material master record, and
• the column "AUn" (processing in alternative unit of measure) was marked when the physical inventory document was created.

Procedure

Overwrite the default unit of measure if want to enter the count results in a different unit (for example the stockkeeping unit) that has been defined for this material.
