Organizational unit that performs the service for a case.

Supplementary Documentation - ERBOE 0001

Use

When you enter a service without specifying the performing organizational unit (OU), the system determines the performing OU from the movement to which the service is assigned.

Depending on whether you called the service entry transaction with regard to a case or a movement, the system determines the performing OU as follows:

  • You call service entry with regard to a case by choosing the required case row in the case list.
    • Inpatient/day patient case:
    • For extended services, the system proposes the nursing OU to which the case is assigned in the admission and subsequent inpatient movements.
For immediate services, the system proposes the nursing OU of the admission, if you have not specified a service date. If you entered the service with a start date, the system searches for the inpatient movement that coincides with the start of the service.
However, if an outpatient visit exists at the date of admission, the system proposes the treatment OU of the outpatient visit. If several outpatient visits exist at the date of admission, the system does not propose the performing OU.
    • Outpatient case:
    • The system proposes the treatment OU of the first outpatient visit as the performing OU.
  • You call service entry with regard to a movement by choosing the movement in the case list for which you want to enter services.
    • Inpatient/day patient case:
    • For extended services, the system proposes the nursing OU of the chosen movement. If you chose an outpatient visit, the system proposes the nursing OU of the movement that is valid at the visit date instead of the treatment OU of the outpatient visit.
For immediate services, the system proposes the nursing or treatment OU of the chosen movement.
    • Outpatient case:
    • The system proposes the treatment OU of the chosen outpatient visit as the performing OU.

Procedure

Enter the service and confirm your input. The system automatically determines the performing OU.

You can change the proposed value. Note, however, that the system can no longer automatically adjust entered services in relation to changed movement data if you manually changed the data for the performing and requesting OU or the validity dates of the service. For this reason, you should make changes in the movements concerned. The system automatically transfers the changed data into the service entry transaction.
