Quantity to which the individual component quantities refer in display functions.
Use
When you enter a required quantity, the system calculates the component quantity as follows:
required quantity Stored
Component = ------------ * Component
quantity Base qty quantity
If you do not enter a required quantity, the required quantity is set to the base quantity.

Procedure
When you explode a multiple BOM, you enter either the required quantity or the alternative.
If you enter a required quantity, the system selects the appropriate alternative according the the lot-size ranges.
Examples
The saddle support of a bicycle consists of the components seat pillar and tube.
If the base quantity is 1 piece, the component quantities are as follows:
Seat pillar: 1.000 piece
Tube : 0.250 M
If the required quantity is 200 pieces, the component quantities are as follows:
Seat pillar: 200.000 pieces
Tube : 50.000 M

Dependencies
For determining material usage, the required quantity is regarded as the component quantity.
When you enter a required quantity, the system calculates the resulting quantity as follows:
Required qty
Resulting qty = ---------------- * Base quantity
Stored component
quantity
Example:
BOM MAT3 Base quantity: 1
0010 MAT1 Component qty: 1
0020 MAT2 Component qty: 2
Material usage Required qty: 10
0010 MAT2 --> Resulting qty: 5
