Documentation
Definition
Specifies the status as follows, depending on the object:
- Specification: Status of the data (identifiers and value assignment instances) of the specification
- Formula or recipe: Status that is assigned to the whole object within the scope of application
The status describes the current processing status in each case.
Depending on the object type, the following status networks apply:
- Status network for specifications
- Status network for the scope of application for recipes
- Status network for the scope of application for formulas
Examples
In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools in the IMG activity Specify Statuses, you have specified for the status Released that changing the data belonging to that status is prohibited. If you then set the Released status here for the rating PUBLIC and the validity area DE for a specification, all value assignments that have this rating and validity area may not be changed in the time period you specified in the Valid from and Valid to fields. For more prerequisites, see Change Not Permitted.
Dependencies
Depending on your Customizing settings, note the following depending on the object type:
- You can use your own user statuses for the objects in addition to the system statuses described in the status network. The user statuses serve to visually reproduce enterprise-specific processes in the SAP System. The corresponding status profile must be defined and activated in Customizing.
- For specifications, the checks that were specified in the IMG activity Develop Enhancement for Status Checks are also executed when a status is changed, in addition to the checks defined in the status network.
- In formulas, the system executes your own check functions when a status is changed, in addition to the checks defined in the status network (see function module FRML984_STATCHNG_AT_CHECK).
