Use
The field must be maintained with the value for the port of the sender system.
The sender system can be, for example, an EDI subsystem or another SAP System (R/2 from 5.0F, SAP system from 2.1).
Outbound processing (from the SAP side):
The sender system is an SAP system. The port is called 'SAP<SID>', e.g. SAPC11 for an SAP system with the name C11.
Inbound processing:
The external system must maintain the field with a port value from the IDoc Interface port definition.
