Documentation
Definition
Specifies how the IDocs are transferred to the EDI subsystem. There are various technical possibilities for this communication known as port types. The choice of port type also depends on the technical capabilities of the EDI subsystem.
Use
Entered in the outbound partner profiles. The port must first have been created in the port description.
Examples
- Most EDI subsystems read IDocs in the form of sequential files, that is, the port type is 'file' in this case.
- Direct linkage from an SAP ystem to an R/2 system is only possible via port type CPI-C.
