Definition
This field controls the conversion of the segment types in a particular IDoc type in the segment definitions allocated.
If the field is empty, the segment definition currently assigned is used. This definition does not need to be released. After an upgrade, therefore, the segment definition that is output may change.
If a release is entered in the field, the segment definition that was released for this release is used for every segment type from the current IDoc. After an upgrade, the same segment definition is output by specifying the release.
Caution when sending to an R/2 System
R/2 Systems do not recognize segment versions. Here you must specify version 30A: This ensures that the first version of a segment is taken, as Release 3.0A was the first SAP Release which supported segment versions. The segment definitions do not have three-digit version numbers at the end.
