Identifies the IDoc. It is a mandatory field.
Applications
No action required.
IDoc interface
The number range of the IDoc is client-specific. The IDoc number is determined using the internal number assignment in the function module after the IDoc has been created.
EDI subsystem
The EDI subsystem must not fill DOCNUM when the IDoc is being created. This number is assigned by SAP. In the case of outbound IDocs, however, the EDI subsystem must maintain DOCNUM for later status messages to the SAP System.
