Definition

If a basic type is extended by a customer, this extension is identified with the field CIMTYP.

Use

The fields CIMTYP (extension) and IDOCTYP (basic type) identify the new IDoc type uniquely. Only in communication with earlier releases (3.0, 3.1) can the content of DOCTYP be derived via a conversion table from CIMTYP and IDOCTYP, if this IDoc type is known there under an individual name.

Applications

Outbound IDocs:
The application selection module completes CIMTYP from PARTOUT (partner profile).

Inbound IDocs:
No action required.

IDoc interface

Checks are performed to determine whether CIMTYP exists. If the communication partner is an SAP system with an older release, conversion is performed from CIMTYP to DOCTYP (outbound), or vice versa (inbound).

EDI subsystem

No action required.
