Definition

Indicates the international article number (EAN or UPC) of the material in the purchase order unit.

The system suggests the EAN/UPC of the purchase order item.

Use

If you enter a different number, the system checks whether this number already exists in the material master record in the unit of measure. If not, the system reacts as follows:

• In the case of external number assignment, the new EAN or UPC is created (provided it is valid)
• In the case of internal number assignment, you get an error message
