Definition
This is the date of the first of multiple meter readings.
Example
A control group has been defined for a register and indicates that the register must be read on 12/15/98 (scheduled meter reading date) with meter reading reason Periodic meter reading. A control reading is to be saved for the previous year on the 15th of each month. 12 meter reading orders are generated, 11 of which for multiple reading. You use the reference date to establish a link to the meter reading order of 12/15/98.
