Definition
Each variant program requires a certain number of parameters. The variant program establishes which fields must be filled for a rate step, and therefore plays a very central role in the maintenance of rate steps:
- If you wish to create a new rate step, you must first enter a variant program in the field at the end of the rate step list. After you choose "Enter", all fields required for this variant program become ready for input.
- At the end of the rate step list, a new field is now ready for you to enter another variant program. You can no longer change the variant program for rate steps that have already been created.
Each time a new rate step is created, a new logical rate step number is assigned internally.
Most variants require fewer operands and line item types than the maximum amount that is possible. Therefore, empty columns are hidden that contain operands and line item types not required for the rate steps. To cancel this automatic adjustment of the columns, choose: Goto -> Settings -> Empty columns yes/no.
