Definition
A cyclic distribution key is one whose values recur annually. The length of the cycle corresponds to the number of periods in the year.
Use
- If you want to distribute on a seasonal basis, i.e. if distribution should be identical each year, select the flag "Cyclic".
Enter the values for any year (e.g. 001.1996 to 012.1996). The distribution key can then be used for any year (..., 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, ...). - If you the distribution to be based on different factors each year, do not select this flag.
Dependencies
A distribution key for calendar weeks cannot be cyclic, since the number of weeks in a year can vary.
