Definition

Cutting measure in a task list for an allocated material component. This measure replaces "Size 1" from the bill of material.

Use

Specifying cutting measures that differ from the size in the bill of material may be necessary, for example, if the workpiece needs to be larger to be clamped in the chuck or if several parts are to be produced from one piece.

Dependencies

In material requirements planning, the size from the bill of material is used to determine the requirements quantity. Cutting measures in a routing are used for informational purposes for production and are not used in materials planning.
