Definition
Category of a system downtime
Use
In the central planning for system downtimes, there are different categories. The category selection has consequences for monitoring and reporting.
Planned downtimes are defined periods that have been agreed between the system operator and system user to allow maintenance work to be performed.
Unplanned downtimes are times defined ad hoc during which the system is not available to users.
Planned availability times are defined times during which no downtimes may be scheduled, because the system must be available for important business applications.
