Definition
The transport settings for Drag&Relate metadata maintenance can assume the following values:
' ': Normal
Each time you save, the system writes the changed object to a transport request. You should note that the system sends the transport dialog box once only within the maintenance transaction. The system adds subsequent changes to the same request.
However, you can force the transport dialog box to appear either by restarting the maintenance transaction or by choosing "Transport" in the maintenance transaction.
'M': Manual transport
To transport objects, you can use the appropriate button in the maintenance transaction.
'S': Transport of SAP tables
In the "SAP mode", you edit the delivery tables, whereas in the other modes, you edit the customer tables.
When you save these changes, they overwrite the contents of the customer tables. This means that metadata modifications could be lost.
Furthermore, if you use this mode in the customer system, the information about the delivery status of the respective object is lost.
As a result, you should never use this mode in a customer system or a production system, unless you absolutely must edit the delivery version, for example, because this cannot be activated.
