Definition

Determines whether changes that have an affect on more than one level in a collective order are executed. Changes to the hierarchy such as these include:

  • Deletion of a directly produced material component
  • Insertion of a directly produced material component
  • Change of the quantity of a directly produced material component

If you do not permit changes to the hierarchy, then the system reacts as follows:

  • Sales order change process

Changes are determined in all affected levels of a collective order. During the check, the changes to the hierarchy receive a conflict of the type "error", which prevents the execution of these changes.

  • Master data change process

Changes that are dependent on directly produced components are not determined. For changes to directly produced components that have an affect on the hierarchy, the check determines a conflict of the type "error", which prevents the execution of these changes.

If you permit changes to the hierarchy, then the system reacts identically for the sales order and master data change process:

  • Changes are determined for all affected levels in a collective order. The check of the changes that have an affect on the hierarchy does not determine a conflict, so that these changes are executed automatically by the "Change original order" step.
