Definition

This indicator determines that the original application files are checked in to defined storage systems (content repositories) using SAP Knowledge Provider (KPro).

Note:

  • If you define a new document type, SAP recommends that you only use Knowledge Provider to check in files.
  • Do not set this indicator for a document type at a later stage. If original application files have already been maintained and have not been checked in using the Knowledge Provider, the system cannot manage these original application files.

Use

You make the necessary settings for the storage system in Customizing,Settings for Storage Systems.

  • You maintain one or more storage systems for the physical storage location. Here you specify the storage categories, such as:
    • HTTP content server
    • SAP database
  • You can set up several logical views (storage categories) to enable structured storage.

Dependencies

You can minimize the effort for check-in by defining a profile and specifying a default storage category, and assigning it to the required user group.

Example

The following overview shows several storage categories that are defined for storage system AR-1 (Archive 1), storage category HTTP Content Server and therefore enable systematic check-in of original application files.

If you want to check in an original application file while processing the document info record, you can select the storage category.

Notes

Old document types whose original application files have never been checked in to a storage system can be converted with the following program: DMS_KPRO_CONVERT (Migration DMS storage into KPRO storage).
