Definition
Describes the type of the internal target field to which a source value is to be transferred.
Data Mapping: From the Source Field to the File Field
First, the contents of the source field (structure field, constant, and so on) are transferred to an internal target field. You specify the length and type of this internal target field in the attributes of the element or atom.
In the second step, the internal target field is transferred to the final file target field with the same length. The file target field always has the type "character". This second step is not performed for technical nodes.
If a conversion rule has been defined for the corresponding DMEE node, this conversion takes place in the second step. This means that the initial value for the conversion is the internal target field.
