The field SDATA has a length of 1000 Bytes, which as a rule is not fully utilized.
The number of Bytes that are actually used can be found in this field.
The original length field for a VARC field is an integer field of length 2. As the structure BDALEDD is also used for communication with external systems, an NUMC field of length 5 was used here.
