Definition
Date that has decisive significance as to whether settlement accounting with respect to condition records and rebate arrangements is to take place.
Please use the F4 help facility to obtain the settlement dates.
Use
For settlement accounting to take place, the validity period of the condition record must have expired (i.e. the validity end date of the condition record must be earlier or the same as the settlement date).
The settlement date should be earlier than or the same as the current date, because settlement accounting is only to be carried out with respect to rebate arrangements/condition records if their validity period has expired. However, after a confirmation prompt, it is also possible to carry out settlement accounting for rebate arrangements prior to the expiration of their validity period. This is necessary, for example, in the case of arrangements that are to be deleted or condition records that have been flagged with deletion indicators in order to take any further existing vendor business volume data into consideration or dissolve any provisions for rebate income that have been created.
More specifically, the following applies:
- Rebate arrangements requiring periodic settlement (arrangements with a settlement calendar)
For rebate arrangements requiring periodic settlement, the settlement date also decides whether final settlement or merely partial settlement accounting is to be carried out. If the settlement date is later than or the same as the validity end date of the rebate arrangement, a final settlement is carried out. Otherwise, partial settlement is effected. Settlement accounting with respect to a condition record belonging to the rebate arrangement is carried out if the validity end date of the condition record is earlier than or the same as the settlement date.
For partial settlement, here the settlement date should be chosen as the validity end date of the relevant period condition records. If you wish to carry out final settlement, you should choose the validity end date of the rebate arrangement.
- Rebate arrangements that are not subject to periodic settlement (arrangements without a settlement calendar).
As a basic rule, settlement accounting with respect to non-periodic rebate arrangements is carried out once only, upon expiration of the validity period of the arrangement. In this case, the settlement date would be the validity end date of the rebate arrangement.
