Use

You can execute the following functions when dispatching one or more operations:

  • Forming the dispatching sequence: If you have activated this function, and if several operations are to be dispatched, then these operations are first sorted taking into account the key for determining the dispatching sequence.

  • Operation date check: If you have activated this function the system checks whether scheduling restrictions are adhered to during dispatching. The indicators Take op.floats into accnt., Use float bef.prod. and Use float aft.prod. are only taken into account if the function Operation data check is active.

  • Change production version on error: If you have activated this function then in the case of an error in automatic dispatching (for example, capacity overload) the next production version is copied to the planned order. The production versions are ordered alphanumerically according to the production version key. The planned order is scheduled using the routing for this version but not dispatched. The operations remain in the pool and can, together with other operations in the pool, be dispatched to the new production line. The function can only be used with planned orders.

  • Mid-point scheduling: If you have activated this function then mid-point scheduling is executed for the orders after dispatching. If the function is not activated then mid-point scheduling is carried out for the orders when they are saved if the appropriate settings are made.

  • Setup time optimization: If you have activated these functions then you can dispatch a group of operations from the pool to the target work centers in the capacity planning table in the sequence with minimum setup time.

The system dispatches the operations with adjusted setup times in a sequence without gaps. To calculate the setup times the setup time optimiziation function uses the standard values that are stored for the setup transitions in the setup matrix. After dispatching the original setup standard values in the operations are overwritten with the setup standard values from the setup matrix.

The dispatching date of the operations is determined as follows:

    • If no operations have been dispatched yet to the work center then the operations are dispatched at today's date without any between them. If you have activated Date entry when dispatching then you can also enter a dispatching date.
    • If operations are dispatched at the work center then the operations to be dispatched are dispatched in such a way that they follow on the existing commitment. If you have activated Date entry when dispatching then you can specify the dispatching date.

When forming the optimal set sequence the existing setup state of the work center is taken into account:

    • With an existing commitment the existing setup state of a work center is determined by the last operation to be dispatched.
    • If there is not yet any commitment at a work center in the evaluation period you can specify the setup state using the initial setup state in the strategy profile.

Then forming the minimum setup sequence the function takes into account whether setup transitions are forbidden.

If you have activated setup time optimization the following dispatching functions are automatically activated:

    • Planning direction forwards
    • Insert operation

The following dispatching functions were automatically deactivated:

    • Dispatching at best time for setup
    • Dispatching at earliest point in time
    • Date entry on dispatching
