Documentation
Definition
Specifies that when dispatching on the period split the start and finish date of the operation must lie within the period split interval for example, a shift.
When you have set the indicator and the operation is longer than a period interval then the operation is dispatched at the next-possible date.
Dependencies
This indicator is only effective
- if you have entered a period split
- if the indicator always keep to period split is inactive.
Example
You have made the following settings:
- a shift split for the period split
- planning direction forwards
- start search in planning direction
- Operation completely in period split
Always adhere to period split is not set.
The shift lasts for eight hours and a five-hour operation has already been dispatched at the start of the shift. Nothing has been dispatched at the start of the next shift.
You want to dispatch a five-hour long operation. This operation cannot be dispatched to the first shift because it cannot be completed here. Therefore it is dispatched at the start of the next shift.
If an operation had already been dispatched to the start of the second shift the operation to be dispatched would be dispatched following on from this operation because it can be completed within this shift.
