Definition
You can use the master data generator to change existing prices. The period to which this change applies is predefined in the price history nodes by the attributes ABDATUM (From-date) and BISDATUM (To-date). You can also activate several nodes with a price history and, in this way, create several price time slices. The earliest to-date of all price history nodes is important in the following procedure. You can use the attribute CUT_FUTURE Delete new price time slices to determine what is to happen to any existing price time slices:
- If you activate the attribute CUT_FUTURE and specify the value 'X', all existing price time slices that are earlier than the earliest to-date in the price history nodes are deleted.
- Otherwise, the earlier price time slices remain unchanged.
- The attribute BISDATUM (To-date) is optional for price history nodes. If you do not specify this attribute, the validity of the price is extended to the maximum system date (formally, to 12/31/9999). In this case, the value of the attribute CUT_FUTURE is irrelevant.
This means you can use this attribute to limit the future validity of a price.
