Definition

A distribution key default value for the currency fields or field groups is stored in this field. You can use any existing distribution key for this purpose.

If you have not yet entered any planning object (for example in CO-OM as combination of cost center and cost element), this default value is set for all currency fields.

The distribution key for already planned objects is not changed.

Note: The distribution key for the new planning objects is useful when the distribution key field in the planning layout definition is not selected; the distribution key is not visiable in the planning session.

Example

You are defining planning parameters for production area planning in your company. The work in this area is performed in several shifts, for which you have created your own distribution key. You can store this key as a default value here so that you do not need to keep entering it during planning for distributing costs.
