Indicator used to switch off long-term planning for an item.

Use

Long-term planning allows you to simulate materials planning, in parallel to operational materials planning, across all low-level codes. This means that you can use the current bills of material to determine the effects of a planned production program on the material requirements and capacity load.

Procedure

In the standard system, long-term planning is carried out across all low-level codes.

However, if the bill of material is very large, long-term planning can have an adverse effect on system performance. For this reason, you have the option of switching off long-term planning for a low-level code where it is no longer required.
