Definition
Indicator which identifies a material as a part to be discontinued, and which, in materials planning, causes the material to be replaced by its follow-up material.
Procedure
If this indicator is set, the system passes on any dependent requirements with insufficient stock to the follow-up material during materials planning.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Both the discontinued material and the follow-up material must be subject to material requirements planning (MRP).
- The base unit of measure of the follow-up material must be identical with that of the discontinued material.
Dependencies
The system displays the discontinuation indicator from the material master. If a bill of material is allocated to several plants, you see the discontinuation indicator from the default plant.
