Definition

Identifies a BOM item within a BOM group.

Procedure

An item ID can be assigned as follows:

• External item ID

  You enter an item ID. Include at least one non-numerical character.

• Internal item ID

  If you do not make any entry the system automatically assigns an item ID. This is made up entirely of numerical characters.

Dependencies

An item ID can only be assigned in create mode and can then no longer be changed.

In the Define modification parameters activity in BOM Customizing, you can set whether repeated item effectivity via an external item ID is supported.
