Definition
Indicates whether BOM headers with parameter effectivity are also created when you create bills of material with parameter effectivity.
Use
When you create a bill of material with a change number with parameter effectivity and
- Set this indicator, the BOM header is assigned the effectivity defined in the change master record.
- Do not set this indicator, only the items are created with parameter effectivity. The BOM header is created without parameter effectivity with the date of creation being its valid-from date. From this date onwards, it is always valid.
Dependencies
When you set this indicator it can have the following consequences: If you later change one or more items in the BOM using a change number, without changing the BOM header as well, the effectivity of the new change status only applies to the items and not to the header. When the BOM is exploded using a parameter variant according to which only the new item is valid, the system does not therefore find a valid BOM header and does not explode the items.
We recommend you only set the indicator in certain cases.
Example
You have set the indicator and create a BOM using a change number. In the change master record you have defined the DATE change type and an open interval. The change header is assigned the valid from date from the change master record, which means that it becomes valid at the same time as its items.
