Documentation
Definition
Entry in percent that arises during production of the material, when the material is a component.
Use
The component scrap is used in material requirements planning to determine the input quantities of the components. When the BOMs are exploded, the system increases these input quantities of the components by the calculated scrap quantity.
Example
Input quantity 200 pieces
Component scrap 10 %
Scrap quantity 20 pieces
---> 220 pieces are used
You can find examples for the calculation in relation to the indicator for net scrap in the section net scrap.

Dependencies
If an assembly scrap is valid for a superordinate assembly, the system adds both scrap types together.
If you have entered component scrap in the bill of material, the value in the latter is valid. In other cases, the value in the material master record is valid.
