Indicates the invalid indicator.

Use

The indicator identifies the data record as being invalid.

Dependencies

Note:

Do not confuse this indicator with the invalid indicator in versioning. The versioning indicator identifies data records that were previously invalid but are now no long valid on the current technical time-spot .

With the current invalid indicator for credentials, you indentify a data record for a specific effective time-spot as being invalid, but you can identify it as being valid at a later effective time-spot by deselecting the invalid indicator.

Example

• Certain registrations or licenses are only valid for a limited period, such as for the summer period (depending on the weather).
• In many states, driver's licenses authorize drivers to drive a motor vehicle only when they come of age, although they have already passed their driving test. Consequently the driver's license is not valid before this date, although it has already been issued.
• The validity of a driver's license can be canceled for a fixed period as a result of a traffic offense.
