Documentation
Definition
Indicates that a commodity pricing engine (CPE) term is only used for provisional pricing.
Use
Terms marked as provisional are normally not included in the calculation of the formula rate. If a term could not be successfully evaluated, and a provisional term is assigned to it, then the system uses the rate of the provisional term to calculate the formula.
Dependencies
Example
Term 1 is a "normal" (non-provisional) term that refers to the provisional term 2. Term 2 has a fixed term rate.
Term 1 has a period that is partly in the future, so not all quotations can be found, and the period determination has the status incomplete.
As long as the end date of the period of term 1 is not reached, the fix term rate of term 2 will be used for the calculation of the formula rate. Only after this date can the period determination of term 1 be final, and its rate can then be used for the calculation of the formula rate.
