Use
The formula key is the reference to a formula defined when customizing the commodity pricing engine (CPE). A commodity pricing formula has to include at least one term. The values of all terms included in a formula are combined to give the formula value.
The attributes of a formula are as follows:
- Commodity unit of measure (UoM)
- Specifies the unit used when calculating the amounts
- Formula currency, price unit, and UoM
- Defines the rate format
- Formula evaluation routine
- Contains the logic for evaluating the formula
- Combination routine
- Contains the logic for combining the term values
- Splitting routine
- Contains the logic for distributing the commodity quantity across all terms
- Quantity conversion rule
- Controls the conversion from item quantity to commodity quantity
- Factors and product UoM
- Used for a manual conversion into the commodity quantity
Conversion rules and rounding rules can also be assigned to a formula. The use of a formula can be restricted to one condition type (or to certain areas) of the calling application.
Formulas can be maintained in the CPE Customizing activity, Define CPE Formula.
