Definition

Fixed costs, that is, quantity-independent costs, which result from using this production data structure. The fixed portion of costs, which result from the staging of components, are contained in this parameter.

Use

This parameter is used for the scheduling heuristic in PP/DS. If there is a shortage of a product, all possible sources of supply are first determined. These sources are sorted according to their costs. The sources of supply with the lowest costs are checked first. If the product can be obtained from this source on time, the search terminates. If this is not possible, the source with the next lowest costs is checked.
