Documentation
Definition
In this field, enter the quantity unit in which you want to store quantities in the standard quantity field.
You should choose your standard unit of measure so that all material quantities can be translated into that unit. You should also make sure that the standard unit of measure for all materials is either the base unit of measure or the alternative unit of measure in the material master record.
If a translation to the standard unit of measure is not possible, the system issues an error message when actual data is transferred to CO-PA. The documents with which this happens cannot be updated in CO-PA.
Note
Units of measure in Profitability Analysis are usually determined automatically in CO-PA derivation. The unit field of a standard quantity is also determined in this way.
The unit for the standard quantity is derived using the derivation type move. The unit of measure stored in the field "Unit of measure" is copied directly to the unit field of the standard quantity field. This means that the unit field is always populated for both plan and actual data. Note, however, that only actual quantities are translated to the CO-PA standard unit of measure.
If it is not possible to define a single standard unit of measure due to the diversity of your products, you can use CO-PA derivation to define standard units of measure at the product group level.
