Definition
If you select the "Transfer Auxiliary Cost Component Split" indicator, the auxiliary cost component is transferred when an actual cost estimate is called up.
A distinction is made between two types of cost component split: firstly, the cost component split for costs of goods manufactured and secondly the cost component split for primary costs.
You can use two cost component splits in parallel in the Material Ledger. To do so, define one of the cost component splits as the main cost component split. The second cost component split is then taken as the auxiliary cost component split. In this way, you can calculate in parallel the cost component split for primary costs and the cost component split for costs of goods manufactured. However, it is also possible to use just a cost component split for primary costs or just a cost component split for costs of goods manufactured.
In Customizing for Product Cost Accounting, you set the cost component splits as the main and auxiliary cost component splits respectively. You do this at the level of the organizational units "company code" and "plant" as a function of the costing variant, by choosing Product Cost Planning -> Basic Settings for Material Costing -> Define Cost Component Structure.
