Definition
Setting this parameter means that, once a material cost estimate has been accessed successfully, no further attempts are made to access any other material cost estimates.
Example
In Customizing for valuation with material costing, access was defined with several costing keys:
Material type Cost. 1 Cost. 2 Cost. 3
FERT -> I01 I02 I03
Under the standard setting, the system performs a "parallel valuation" with all assigned costing keys. This means that the system processes all existing costing keys in the order specified in Customizing.
In the present example, the costing data is first accessed using costing key 'I01', then using costing key 'I02' and finally using costing key 'I03'.
In order that the system only accesses the costing data using one single costing key, you need to set the parameter "Exclusive Access to Costing" for costing keys 'I01', 'I02' and 'I03'. This will mean that the system will no longer consider the ensuing costing keys 'I02' and 'I03' after valuation has been successfully carried out using costing key 'I01'. Thus, valuation using costing keys 'I02' or 'I03' only occurs if valuation has not been successful with the previous costing key, 'I01' and 'I02' respectively.
