Definition

Search method that is proposed when the user data contains no last used search method for an object type (for example, when the user uses the search function for the first time). The default search method appears as a blank in the dropdown box for the field By.

Use

If a user does not specify a search method (such as by category), the default search method is used; that is, the search is not further restricted by object-typical criteria (in the example above, it would therefore not be restricted to products assigned to the category specified).
