Definition
There are two ways in which data can be stored when you define product master enhancements:
- Indicator set
This assigns each data record of the set type to the product/ individual object using a separate assignment table. Using this option means that you can assign the attribute values of a set type to more than one product/individual object.
This functionality will be available in a later release. If you can already foresee that you will use the data of a particular set type for several products/individual objects, then set this indicator. This will mean that the data of the set type will not need to be converted when this functionality is implemented at a later point in time. - Indicator not set
This directly assigns each data record to exactly one product. This is beneficial for performance and data volume, particularly where large numbers of products/individual objects are expected. If you are expecting a large number of products/individual objects and it is likely that the various data records of this set type will not be used by more than one product/individual object, do not set this indicator.

Example
Set the indicator if, for example, an enhancement table contains general data such as the units of measure for a product. It is likely that this data will be the same for several products.
Do not set the indicator if, for example, an enhancement table contains the serial number of a technical device. It is not likely that the data record (serial number) will be used by more than one product.
