Definition
When uploading product data, you can choose whether the product should be created as an industrial material or retail material.
This indicator means that the product will be created as a retail material in the OLTP System.
You should only create the product as a retail material if you are using SAP Retail. If you are using SAP Retail and work with industrial materials as well as retail materials, you can also create the product as an industrial material.
The default setting for creating products is Industrial material. If the setting is changed to Retail material, this setting is retained until you log off from the system, provided you do not change the setting again.
If you generally only want to create retail materials, you can assign the parameter ID CRM_OLTP_OBJ_TYPE the value 02 by choosing System -> User profile -> Own data and then Parameters in the tab. This means that everytime you log onto the system, Retail material will be set by default.
