Documentation
Definition
An attribute can be defined as:
- Relevant to configuration
This means that the attribute remains visible in the configuration process (for example, in the order).
- Configurable
This means that the attribute remains visible in the configuration process but can also be changed.
In the case of configurable products, you can also maintain value range restrictions and default values for these attributes at product level.
- Not relevant to configuration
The distinction between attributes which are configurable or relevant to configuration on the one hand and those which are not relevant to configuration is only significant for configurable products. In the case of non-configurable products, configurable attributes and attributes which are relevant to configuration are handled in the same way as attributes which are not relevant to configuration.
Configurable attributes and attributes relevant to configuration are stored additionally in the PME. The Internet Pricing and Configurator (IPC)/Product Modeling Environment (PME) must therefore be installed if you use configurable attributes or attributes relevant to configuration.
