Definition
The UTC time stamp states the date and time, with reference to UTC (Universal Coordinated Time).
In order to standardize local times in a UTC time stamp and thus to make them comparable, you have to convert them by stating your time zone. You can use the ABAP command convert to do this.
Even if the time zone, which results from this conversion, can be determined from the Customizing or master data, it is recommended that you still save the time zone.
The internal structure of the UTC time stamp is logically divided into date and time in a packed number format (YYYYMMDDhhmmss). A UTC time stamp in long form (10^-7 seconds) is also available.
