Supplementary Documentation - COMT_ALTID_PROFILE0001
Use
The profile for alternative ID types determines how product determination is performed in a business transaction. By assigning a profile for alternative ID types to your transaction type, you can search using alternative product IDs.
Dependencies
You can define a profile in Customizing under Cross-Application Components -> SAP Products -> Alternative Product IDs -> Define Profiles.
If you enter a profile for alternative IDs, this overrides the settings in the Enter GTIN, Enter Partner Product, Create Product Order Number, and Always Check Product ID. We recommend that you use the profile for alternative IDs for product determination.
Example
Supplementary Documentation - COMT_ALTID_PROFILE0002
Use
A profile is basically a list of alternative ID types. When a profile is used in a search, the order of ID types specified in the profile and theStop Search After First Hit field determine how the search is performed. When profiles are used as selection lists, however, the order of ID types and the Stop Search After First Hit field are not significant.
Profiles for alternative IDs can be assigned to a transaction type and therefore used to determine how product determination is performed in a business transaction. Profiles can also be assigned to a product type or PPR type, for example.
Example
- The profile defined in Customizing is used for product determination in a business transaction. The order of ID types and the Stop Search After First Hit field are decisive for how the search is performed.
- The profile defined in Customizing is assigned to a product type. This determines which alternative ID types are available for selection in the locator in product maintenance. The order of ID types and the Stop Search After First Hit field are not relevant.
